Made in China by Sanyou company a diorama featuring pagoda, bridge, wading cranes rendered in cork and encased in black lacquered wood frame. Really amazing, intricate piece of artistic accomplishment, various styles and sizes of these Ruanmu Hua were
mass produced for export in the 1920s - 60s sold in the decor sections of American department stores. It is 6.5 inches tall, 5 inches in length and 2 inches wide. It weighs just over 6 ounces. This one in very good condition, one small nick in the wood frame and some dust has infiltrated the glass. Cork carving intact and complete.
