Rare Vintage STEIFF Smardy Fox Hand Puppet 1964-78 German Toy Mohair Teddy Bear

The world of Steiff creations is vast and no species are left behind. Along with the most known bears, cats and dogs the company also developed some other very interesting characters. Smardy Fox hand puppet is a great example of a forest animal that Steiff turned into a beautiful and playful toy. Based on a fox that is featured in a children's math book, this puppet was finely handcrafted in Germany between 1964-1978 and uses the nicest mohair plush. Different from other puppets developed during the same period, Smardy is full bodied and has an incredible presence with its bushy tail. It has been loved and is still a very special puppet. Certainly a welcome addition to any vintage toy collection.*
