Rare Antique Steiff Mohair Spaniel Curly Hair Puppy Dog Vintage Plush

This is a beautiful vintage plush dog. It has no markings but after doing a great deal of research, people online have told me that it is indeed a Steiff. I have identified similar Steiff pieces and it seems this could be identified as a Mohair Spaniel. I was unable to find an identical one.
The body is pretty firm. It measures approximately 12" long from the tip of the nose to the tail. It stands about 8-1/2" tall. It has pretty white/cream colored curly hair except on its head which is short and black/tan. The eyes do appear to be brown/black glass. The back of the ears feel like leather. There is a red bow tied around its neck but i'm not sure if that was original to the plush or not. There is no ID, button or markings.
The dog is in good, clean condition especially for its age. It does look like the snout has some light staining but I have not tried to clean it. The ribbon around its neck shows some wear. On the underside at the bottom of the front paws there are some brown spots. I believe this is due to the metal in the feet popping out and rusting. One foot I can feel the metal but it does not poke through. However, the other front paw shows some metal poking out. Also the tail has become partially unstitched and there is a tear in the fabric, but it is not real noticeable with all the curly fur/hair. Please refer to the photos for more detail.
